There are a number of reasons this could happen and these steps will get you back to scanning your film in no time!
- Confirm the SD card is 32GB or less in size, cards larger than this will not read in the FS50.
- Remove the SD card from the scanner, if the card is a micro SD adapter, ensure the micro SD card is inserted in the slot.
- On the side of the SD card, you'll see a small slider switch. The SD card label will show which position is locked. If the switch is in the locked position it will not read correctly.
- Reinsert the card and try scanning. If you still get the FAIL message, you may need to format the SD card. This will delete everything off the card.
- Using the left and right arrows on the main menu, find Format.
- Press OK.
- You will now see Data shall be eliminated!
- Press OK.
- When the Format the Media screen appears, use the arrows, to select Yes.
- A Formatting message will appear.
- Once complete you will see Format Successful.
