FS50: How to Scan Film and Slides

This article will walk you through the steps you need to scan your film and slides in the Magnasonic FS50 22MP Film Scanner.*
 
  • Connect the small end of the USB cable to the scanner and the large end to the power adapter.
  • Insert the SD card into the slot on the back of the scanner. Confirm if the card is a full-size SD card or an adapter for a smaller micro SD card.

  • Press and hold the power button to turn the scanner on. If the TV OUT cable is connected to the scanner, the screen will turn off after Magnasonic is shown and displayed on the TV.
  • Using the left and right arrow buttons, select the image type. Press OK to confirm:

Colour Negative (standard developed film negatives)
Slide Positive (for slides developed in normal color)
B&W Negatives (Black and White Negatives)
 
  • Select the film size.

*135 is 35mm film and will cover most negatives.
  • Place your film or slides in the appropriate slide or film adapter.

  • Insert the adapter into the scanner.
  • Press the SCAN/MENU button to see the scan preview.
  • Line up the image in the preview.
  • If your image is too bright or dark, pressing OK during the preview will allow you to adjust the exposure, color, and flip or mirror the photo.
  • Once you're ready to scan, press the SCAN/MENU button. A Save option will appear

  • Press OK to save the image.
