Why doesn't my 8mm film feed smoothly while scanning?

Rest assured that your FS81 Film Scanner is working exactly as it's supposed to. When you're using the FS81 Film Scanner to scan your 8mm and Super 8 film reels, it will feed one frame at a time. This happens because the scanner is capturing an image of each frame individually, then puts it together into a video file after the scanning is stopped.

You will not be able to watch the film on the scanner until after it's been scanned.
